Things to see & Do:
Espiritu Santo Island – Dive the 1931 Luxury Liner “SS President Coolidge”, American’s Destroyer “USS Tucker”, “Million Dollar Point”, and many pristine coral reefs. A day out to the famous white sand “Champagne Beach”, Crystal clear “Blue Holes”, Port Orly village, Fanafo custom village, Matantas conservation area, Millennium Cave & culture villages. Espiritu Santo was the base for the US military during the WW2, female (young & older) were transferred & protected from troops to near-by “Bali-Hi” (Ambae Is), troop’s dream island. Now you can still witness remain of the WW2 airstrips, Quonset hats, and a small museum in the tropical garden. Horse rides in the largest cattle farm and coconuts plantation, ride through lagoons, beaches, and Banyan tree forest. If you are adventure trekker, then stay 2 to 3 nights in the local village & trek to Millennium Cave & other trekking areas. For extreme trekker, trek through the rainforest & mountain for 4 – 6 days to visit the pure custom village “Marakai” who are the late Jimmy Steven’s supporters, to experience their 1000 years of old life style. Santo has so much to offer!!
Gaua Island – One of the islands in The Banks islands is where woman make music with water using their hands, Snake dance and other culture. Trek through rainforest to visit volcano, large lake & largest waterfall in Vanuatu.
North Ambrym Island – Offers famous Rom dance, Sand drawings. For the adventurer, then 2 days hike to the twin Volcano. People of Ambrym carve famous “Tam Tam” and great wood/volcano stone/Natangora nut carvings. (Volcano climbs are not allowed in North Ambrym from October to January)
Pentecost Island – Original Bungee Jump call Nangol Land Dive will be performed every Saturday through April to June.
Tanna Island – Stay in the Ni-Vanuatu bungalows or high quality resorts to visit famous Yasua volcano & Culture village.
